Tribalbum

Your family’s gazetteDigital edition

Photos of the kids, just for the family.

How many photos of the kids have already gotten lost in the WhatsApp group? Tribalbum keeps them in a private album, sorted by month with the age they were, and lets the family know whenever there are new photos.

Coming soon to the App Store and Google Play

Two inks, one adult and one child: the Tribalbum logo.

How it works

First story

Start the album

For one child or the whole family. If you add their date of birth, every photo shows their age: “Emma, 1 year and 3 months”.

Second story

Invite your people

One link for those who add photos and another for those who just look. When they open it, each person types their name and they’re in.

Third story

Every batch makes the front page

You add several photos at once and they run as one story. The family gets a notification, stamps them and comments.

Made for grandparents, too

Turn on “Large print” and everything grows 25% bigger, with buttons you can tap without missing. The typeface is Atkinson Hyperlegible, designed for people with low vision. And if they’d rather not install anything, the same link opens the album in the browser.

Questions from our readers

Do I have to sign up?

No. Open the app and you can create an album or join one right away. If you don’t want to lose anything when you change phones, you can save your albums with Apple, Google or your email whenever you like.

Who can see the photos?

Only the people who join with a link to the album. Nobody else: we don’t use them for anything either, and they never show up in any search engine.

What if grandma doesn’t have the app?

You send her the “just look” link and she opens it in the browser on her phone or computer. She sees the photos, stamps them and comments.

Are the photos compressed?

They’re saved at 2048 pixels on the long side: perfect on your phone, tablet and TV, and light enough for the album to load fast. Always keep your originals on your phone.

Can I delete a photo?

The person who added it and the album owner can delete it at any time. It’s deleted for everyone, and from storage too.

Coming soon to your phone

Tribalbum is being tested with the first families. As soon as it’s on the App Store and Google Play, it will appear here.
